I bow my head and take refuge in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss and Peace, before the Great Guide who receives and leads all beings. I now make this vow: I wish to be reborn in the Land of Ultimate Bliss. With boundless compassion, please look upon me with mercy and kindly receive me. 稽首西方安樂國， 接引眾生大導師。 我今發願願往生， 唯願慈悲哀攝受。 서방 극락 안락국에 머무시는 중생을 맞이하시는 크신 스승께 머리 숙여 귀의하오니 저 이제 발원하나이다 극락세계에 왕생하기를 원하오니 오직 자비로 저를 가엾이 여기시고 부디 거두어 주소서 2. We, your disciples, for the sake of repaying the kindness of our parents, teachers, country, and all beings, for all beings dwelling in the Three Realms, and for all beings throughout the Dharma realm, seek the one unsurpassed path to perfect awakening taught by all Buddhas. With one-pointed mind, we recite the sacred and immeasurable name of Amitābha Buddha, and we vow to be born in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. 弟子某甲眾等， 普為四恩三有、法界眾生， 求於諸佛一乘無上菩提道故， 專心持念阿彌陀佛萬德洪名， 期生淨土。 제자 저희들은 부모와 스승과 나라와 중생의 은혜를 위하고 삼계에 머무는 모든 존재를 위하며 온 법계의 모든 중생을 위하여 모든 부처님의 하나뿐인 위없는 깨달음의 길을 구하고자 한마음으로 아미타불의 거룩하고 한량없는 명호를 부르며 서방 극락정토에 태어나기를 발원하나이다 3. Yet our karma is heavy, our blessings are light, our obstacles are deep, and our wisdom is shallow. Defiled thoughts easily arise, while pure virtues are difficult to accomplish. Now, before the Buddha, we bow with all our body and mind. Opening our hearts completely, we sincerely repent and confess. 又以業重福輕， 障深慧淺， 染心易熾， 淨德難成。 今於佛前， 翹勤五體， 披瀝一心， 投誠懺悔。 그러나 저희는 업은 무겁고 복은 가벼우며 장애는 깊고 지혜는 얕아 물든 마음은 쉽게 일어나고 깨끗한 공덕은 이루기 어렵나이다 이제 부처님 앞에서 몸과 마음을 다해 예배하고 한마음 깊이 열어 진실로 참회하나이다 4. I and all beings, from beginningless ages until today, have lost sight of our originally pure mind. Carried away by greed, anger, and ignorance, we have defiled the three karmas of body, speech, and mind. The sins and faults we have created are immeasurable and endless. The karmic resentments and enmities we have formed are also immeasurable and endless.
