Master Lianchi’s Aspiration Prayer for Rebirth in the Western Pure Land 12–14 蓮池大師 西方發願文 12–14 연지대사 서방발원문 12–14 12. After that, without departing from the Land of Peace and Nourishment, may I return to the Sahā world. May I manifest countless bodies, pervading the Buddha-lands of the ten directions. With inconceivable and unhindered spiritual power, and with many skillful means, may I liberate all sentient beings. May they all leave behind defilement, return to their pure mind, be born together in the Western Pure Land, and enter the stage of non-retrogression. 然後不違安養， 回入娑婆。 分身無數， 遍十方刹。 以不可思議自在神力， 種種方便， 度脫眾生。 咸令離染， 還得淨心。 同生西方， 入不退地。 그런 뒤에는 안양정토를 떠나지 않으면서도 다시 사바세계에 들어오게 하소서 무수한 몸을 나투어 시방세계의 모든 불국토에 두루 하며 불가사의하고 자재한 신통력과 갖가지 방편으로 모든 중생을 제도하게 하소서 모두가 물듦을 떠나 본래의 청정한 마음을 되찾고 함께 서방정토에 태어나 불퇴전의 자리에 들게 하소서 13. Such is my great vow. As worlds are endless, as sentient beings are endless, as karma and afflictions are endless, so too may my vow be endless. 如是大願， 世界無盡， 眾生無盡， 業及煩惱一切無盡， 我願無盡。 이와 같은 저의 큰 서원은 세계가 다함이 없고 중생이 다함이 없으며 업과 번뇌가 모두 다함이 없는 것처럼 저의 서원 또한 다함이 없기를 원하나이다 14. May the merit of today’s bowing to the Buddha, making vows, and practicing cultivation be dedicated to all sentient beings. May the Four Kindnesses all be repaid. May all beings in the Three Realms receive this benefit.
