Longing. Deciding to compress your range of values and compress your palette (4 color palette to the rescue!) can result in wonderful opportunities to emphasize atmosphere 😊😊😊 Here's to Gwen John! She lived under her brother Augustus' shadow, who many considered a fantastic portrait painter (let's give him props, he was) but just between you and me, Gwen was the better painter. Here's to you Gwen, you will never know this because you're in the same place that we all were before we were born, but you have moved a painter from Colombia profoundly.
