Monday Week 6: Flash - Value Keys, Oil on Paper (10/02/2020)
Today we start a new theme! Keys!!! Not entirely unlike the ones we constantly lose, keys in painting are related to value! They speak about where in the value scale we place ourselves in order to communicate with more efficiency what we want to convey. A painting with a High Key, like large areas of the one we're going to do today, would group a lot of mid-tones, even shadows, and move them towards the light. But in this painting, since we can manipulate the rules within our painting, we can maintain our darkest dark, and move everything else towards the lighter side of the value scale :) We're pushing this idea quite dramatically today! Thank you all for your incredible support. Dani and I could not be more grateful. If you like what we're doing, please consider donating :) If you're in a rough spot, no worries, we TOTALLY get it. Thank you for your support!!! http://www.ourpaintedlives.com/donations
