V Domenica di Quaresima A - La morte, luogo in cui Dio abita

The tragedy of death affects us all, without distinction. And it questions us about the meaning of life: does it all end here? Will we abandon everything and everyone? In the Gospel that tells us of the death of Lazarus, Jesus gives us extraordinary news: faith does not save us from death, but allows us to see God's presence at work even in it. God inhabits death, shares our destiny, weeps with us, and ultimately transforms death into endless life. Thus, He moves for his friend Lazarus, who represents all humanity under the yoke of death, risking his own life, weeping for him, and opening the tomb where he lies. Those who believe, he tells Martha, also see this work of God in the tragedy: He makes death a passage to life, which will be given to us in abundance and never taken away.
