XIII Tempo Ordinario A - Un amore senza compromessi

The Christian faith is not harmless. It creates disruption, it provokes change, it challenges, and for this reason, it cuts like a sword, Jesus says. And immediately afterward, he speaks precisely of this "sword" that even divides some families, with parents who disown their children because they have become Christians. But Jesus says: remain steadfast in love, without compromise, without giving up or settling. For love to bear fruit and life to flourish, sometimes radical choices are needed, detachments, the courage to leave something or someone behind to remain steadfast on the path we have taken. This is what Jesus did on his way to the cross, and this is what he asks of us too: the disciple loves without measure, does not seek compromise, does not play down, does not renounce himself and his identity as a child of God. He loves, walks, welcomes.
