Double Threshold Day - Episode 11 | Building Confidence

*In this episode, you’ll get a look at a typical Thursday training day for me.* The morning session consists of 3 x 10 minutes, followed by 20 x 400m in the evening. This setup, known as a double threshold day, is a data-driven training approach—often called the Norwegian model—made popular by the Ingebrigtsens in the running world. This is my first year incorporating double threshold training, and I’m really enjoying it so far. In the past, doing two sessions a day seemed extreme, but it has become the norm for most distance runners today. I've been feeling stronger each week in training and building good confidence, but I still feel there's a gap when it comes to racing. The confidence is there in training, but I need more race experience to bring it out. This past weekend, I ran 13:38 for 5000m in Boston. Initially, I was disappointed, but after reflecting, I'm happy to see continued progress. Up next, I’ll be racing the Irish Indoor National Championships over 3000m.
