“Favelinha” da Pituba: a sobrevivência de uma ilha em um dos m2 mais caros de Salvador

On Avenida Professor Magalhães Neto, surrounded by buildings in one of Salvador's most valued areas, a small community continues to resist the passage of time. The former Baixa Fria, now known as the 'Favelinha' of Pituba, survives among narrow streets and few residents. In a neighborhood planned to house the new middle and upper classes of Salvador in the 20th century, this is the only community that has remained in the same location since the 1970s. For those who live there, leaving has never seemed like an option.
