In this gentle morning prayer we sit quietly with God and ask Him to do what only He can do, to ease the weight that has become too heavy. We listen to Jesus in Matthew 11, speaking so tenderly to the weary and offering His easy yoke and light burden. We hear the Psalms whisper, give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you. We sit with Elijah under the broom tree, worn out and undone, and watch God tend him gently with rest and food, without lecture or shame. And we land in the promise that each day, God carries us in His arms. This is a prayer for the overwhelmed, the bone-tired, the ones quietly stretched thin, a soft place to hand God the weight and trust Him to make it lighter.
