Or the One who actually holds your day? In this morning prayer we follow one thread through three places in Scripture and watch it deepen. We begin with Mark 1:35, where Jesus himself slips out before daybreak to pray; then back to the desert in Exodus 16, where God's bread came fresh every morning and could not be stored; and finally to Lamentations 3, where his mercies "begin afresh each morning." Together they answer one question: why invite God in at the start of every single day? Because grace doesn't stockpile. There is fresh mercy waiting this morning that wasn't there yesterday and won't keep till tomorrow, and the only way to get it is to show up. This is a prayer to stop letting noise and fear set the tone, and to gather what God has laid out fresh for today.
