Is Sally's Apizza BETTER Than FRANK PEPE's? Who Wins The ICONIC New Haven Pizza Rivalry?

While Frank Pepe's in New Haven, CT may be a well-known establishment, Sally's Apizza is equally well-known to pizza enthusiasts. Pizza fans, particularly those who are fans of the best New Haven apizza, know that the Frank Pepe's vs Sally's Apizza rivalry is a fierce one, and as the restaurants are just down the street from each other everyone has an opinion on which is better, Pepe's or Sally's. Sally's Apizza was founded by a former employee at Frank Pepe's, but Sally's is not just a clone of Pepe's. Sally's Apizza features a thinner pie, one more evenly thin as opposed to a typical pizza pie with a raised outer crust. Both share some similarities though. Both are coal-fired oven pizzas and both are known for their incredible charred crispy edges. There is no real right or wrong answer as to which is better, Sally's or Pepe's, but I will at least offer my personal opinion! We try a few items from the Sally's Apizza menu, the Sally's classic tomato sauce pie, the mozzarella and cheese pie, and the potato and rosemary pie. Which will we like most?
