The ironically named Fair seeks knowledge beyond human understanding, and acquires much of it. In so doing, inter-dimensional immortality must somehow be supportive. Originally published in the June 1963 issue of The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction, which re-published it in their Best from anthology, 13th Series, in 1964. It appeared in the March 1964 issue of a French magazine, and further anthologies include: Special Wonder in 1970, a Dutch one in 1973, Strange Dreams in 1993, and Masterpieces of Terror and the Unknown in 1994. Appearances in collections of the author's stories include: Green Magic in 1979, The Narrow Land in 1982, and Coup de Grace and Other Stories in 2001. Read by Darrell T.
