Satirical SF Fantasy in which the leader of a Manhattan "nut cult" and his unlikely partner, the cynical detective trying to bust him for fraud, ally themselves against another occultist who hurls sinister influence on their search for a magical diamond. Originally published under the pseudonym S. D. Gottesman in the June 1941 issue of Stirring Science Stories magazine, and re-published in three subsequent magazines: the April 1942 issue of Uncanny Tales, the March 1951 issue of Avon Fantasy Reader, and the August 1987 issue of Urania. It appeared in two anthologies: Worlds Near and Far in 1974, and Science Fiction of the Forties in 1978; and in four collections of the author's stories: A Mile Beyond the Moon in 1958, a German one in 1974, another German one in 1987, and His Share of Glory in 1997.
