THE PURPLE MUMMY by Anatoly Dneprov

SF Mystery in which Soviet scientists reconstruct a woman's body from a decoded interstellar radio signal. But for the purple-hued and plastic-like skin, she appears to be a precise duplicate of a certain museum director's ailing wife. Originally published in the author's native Russian language in a February 1962 magazine, and re-published in a Japanese magazine the same month and year. It next appeared in a collection of the author's stories in 1965, followed by three anthologies: an Italian one in 1966, a Hungarian one in 1969, and its first English translation for a Soviet science fiction anthology called Path Into the Unknown in 1966. Read by Darrell T. Smith II for my channel Quasar Spectra. Support me with a contribution: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?busine... Buy Path Into the Unknown: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=...
