Building the Dollhouse Journal Covers | Fabric, Trim & Vintage Book Spines

In this episode of my dollhouse-inspired junk journal series, I complete the construction of the three journal covers made from vintage and antique children’s books. I prepare and reinforce the original book spines, cover them with coordinating fabrics and trims, and create the inside covers that will become the foundation for each miniature-inspired journal. Now that the covers are fully constructed, the journals are finally beginning to feel like complete objects — tiny worlds taking shape from worn books, salvaged materials, vintage textiles, and carefully layered details. The journals in this series are being created from: Sandman’s Stories of Drusilla Doll (1920) My Dolly and Me (1960) The Doll House (1961) This series explores: junk journaling altered books vintage book restoration and transformation dollhouse aesthetics miniature worlds fabric-covered journals handmade books vintage textiles and trims nostalgic paper crafts slow crafting process If you love: miniatures, dollhouses, antique books, vintage fabrics, handmade journals, paper crafting, altered books, and tactile creative work — welcome. #junkjournal #alteredbook #miniatures #dollhouse #bookbinding #vintagebooks #papercraft #fabricjournal #junkjournaling #handmadebooks #slowcraft #ephemera
