A Pocket Built from Antique Finds (Part 14)

This is the fourteenth video in my series transforming The Kindergarten: Home and School Culture into a handmade journal inspired by Victorian-era childhood, vintage paper, and traditional bookmaking. In this episode, I create a larger pocket using a combination of antique materials, building both structure and visual depth into the page. I work with: antique paper and sheet music an antique photograph and soft embellishments including a shell button, lace, and ribbon Layering these elements creates a pocket that feels substantial but still cohesive with the rest of the journal. The mix of paper and textile details adds texture while keeping the overall palette gentle and balanced. In this video: I construct a large pocket from layered antique materials incorporate both paper and fabric elements and focus on how small embellishments can bring a page together This stage of the project is about building richness through layering — allowing each material to contribute its own texture, tone, and history to the finished page. Inspiration for this pocket came from an image on Pinterest. I do not know who the original artist is.
