Layering History: Wallpaper & an Antique Photo (Part 13)

This is the thirteenth video in my series transforming The Kindergarten: Home and School Culture into a handmade journal inspired by Victorian-era childhood, vintage paper, and traditional bookmaking. In this episode, I create a simple belly band using a piece of 1940s wallpaper border, adding both structure and a decorative focal point to the page. I also work with an antique photograph, adding a few subtle details before tucking it into the belly band — creating a small, contained space within the journal that can hold and highlight special pieces. In this video: I construct a belly band using vintage wallpaper incorporate an antique photograph as a tuck-in element and focus on simple additions that add both function and visual interest Belly bands are one of the easiest ways to add flexibility to a journal page — allowing items to be moved, replaced, and revisited over time.
