Last Ever Doncaster Works Open Day | Celebration Event!

In this video, we're at the Doncaster Works Celebration Open Day, the very last open day at Doncaster Wabtec Works before closure in December 2026 and to celebrate Gresley 150, celebrating the 150th anniversary of the birth of Sir Nigel Gresley in which every Gresley designed locomotive in preservation was fitted with a special headboard to commemorate the occasion. Since 1853 Doncaster Works has been the birthplace of many famous locomotives such as 60103 Flying Scotsman, 4468 Mallard, 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley, 4771 Green Arrow, 60532 Blue Peter and many more steam plus diesel & electric locos such as Classes 03s, 04s,24s, 56s & 58s 71s, then 76 & 85s.. Whilst also servicing, maintaining & refurbishing many DMUs & EMUs. The event would feature 60103 Flying Scotsman & 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley... plus much more, including: Class 08s: 08724 on shuttle duties with saloon coach 975025 Caroline. Plus 08669 (not featured in this video) Class 37s: 37418, 37508 & 37512. Class 43s HSTs: ex GWR Castle set 43186 & 43187. And RailAdventure buffer powercars 43484 & 43468. Class 58 58023 Leicester Depot GBRF Class 66 66773 Pride of GB Railfreight Chiltern Railways Class 165s 165037 & 165002 undergoing maintenance. We also as a bonus have a quick visit to the Damum Library & Museum to see V2 4771 Green Arrow, a fellow Gresley legend next to C1 Atlantic No. 251.... it would've been rude not to have feature Green Arrow in the video, given the Gresley 150 celebrations! A brilliant open day by all who organised and helped along the way. It really was truly special day and a once in a lifetime occasion certainly not to miss. It was really great to look around Flying Scotsman & Sir Nigel Gresley in the place they were built having seen them all over the country! Please like, comment & subscribe for more videos - Enjoy
