Today I’m making two fillings — poppy seed and apple — but these rolls are also delicious with thick jam or sweetened nuts. 📌 Ingredients: • All-purpose flour: 500g (approx. 4 cups, though I used 3 ½ cups) • Milk (lukewarm): 125ml (approx. ½ cup) • Fresh yeast: 15g (or 2 tsp of active dry yeast) • Sugar: 1 tbsp • Egg: 1 large • Butter or margarine (cold): 200g (approx. 1 ¾ sticks or 7/8 cup) • Salt: a pinch • Vanilla sugar: 1 tsp For the filling: • Poppy seed filling / apples / thick jam / chopped nuts • Sugar and cinnamon — to taste After shaping, let the rolls rest on the baking tray for 15 minutes.
