Wales Paragliding Adventures - Day 2 - Magic - 30/06/26

Here is the video from Day 2 of my Wales Paragliding Adventures. After waking up fairly early in the morning, I had planned to leave at 6am to hike up the back of Pen Gloch-y-pibwr, intending to fly the SW facing slope of Magic (Pen Cerrig-Calch). After hiking up which took around 90 minutes or so, passed the summit and then hiked to the planned launch area. However, after waiting and monitoring the wind for 10 minutes, I decided the direction was too south, and as such hiked across to the main Magic Launch Area. After arriving the clouds were still fairly low, and wind was due to increase. There was no one else around which made me feel a little apprehensive and nervous about flying down. Partly due to the conditions, but also due to the strong wind and being worried about clearing the various trees down from launch. After monitoring the conditions for 10 minutes, I then set up and had a lovely launch, soared the ridge for a few beats before pushing out forwards on a lifty line. While it was slow going, the flight was very nice, still made good forward speed, and knew I was easily going to make the planned official landing field (B) close to the Nantyffin Cider Mill Inn. However, I managed to get a light thermal on the way down, and gained enough height to make a landing field I had scoped out the previous day close to Tretower, where I then had a smooth landing, packed up and hiked back to the campsite.
