What I wanted to say is that with parakites, you will have automatically MUCH more margin for this specific type of scenario, so it's less likely to find yourself into one. BUT, if you push the limits, same thing will happen with a Parakite. Crash Nr.10 at 06:35 Oversaw this crucial detail: The pilot is pulling the brake across his chest, instead of towards his hip (also correct weightshifting is missing). First, you have much less control authority and limited motion across your chest, but much more when pulling down towards your hip. Second, if you want to roll left, you should be leaning left as well, and pulling left hand across chest towards right does the opposite of leaning left. These type of errors often happen if you downsize too quickly, as making a roll without the correct weightshifting will not work on bigger sizes, so you need to learn it the correct way. Smaller sizes can "compensate" the lack of weightshifting because of their high reactiveness, but it comes at a cost: Working only or more with your brakes, increases the risk to stall the glider and doesn't let you use energy in the most efficient way, which will also make you lose more altitude in barrel rolls (if you don't stall the glider). ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Paragliding and Speed Flying Crash compilation with mistakes analysis - Learn what went wrong! This video series features 100 paragliding & speedflying crashes — to help other pilots learn from these incidents and avoid making the same mistakes. 🎯 Whether you're a beginner, intermediate, or advanced pilot, this videos are packed with essential safety insights. Take in mind that most of it is just my opinion of what went wrong. Please keep in mind that towards the end of the video series i was mentally really tired, since i did not believe at first that this project would take me so much time (20-40 hours per episode), and therefore some topics may be over simplified and not analyzed in extreme detail. If you think I've analyzed something the wrong way or forgot some important details, please write it in the comments and I will update it in the video description. Important: The intention of this video is not to provide a guide on HOW TO speedfly, as this should only be done under certified instruction. Instead, my aim is to share as many different errors and crashes from pilots around the world all in one video, for any of us to learn as much as possible. This will allow you to gain a better insight if you're already a pilot, but it will never replace a professional instruction. 📌 Key Topics Covered in the series: Stall incidents Wing collapses and turbulence misjudgment Take off & landing errors Equipment failure Barrel Roll accidents Altitude misjudgements Wingtip accidents Accidents due to information overload and inexperience 📢 Help spread safety awareness in the speedflying & paragliding community! ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Thanks to all the people that gave me the permission to use their speedflying crash & accident clips! There's absolutely nothing to be ashamed of if you crash. It happens, even to the most experienced pilots. Huge respect to everyone who shares their crashes openly; your honesty helps others learn, grow, and fly safer. Big shoutout & thanks to worst_of_speedflying / worst_of_speedflying who gathered together lots of Speed Flying accidents & crashs on his instagram page!
