Mom Red Fox Moves Chicken to New Den… But Leaves Goose, Rabbit & Muskrat

Mom fed fox has finally moved all her pups to the new den. For a few days, mom and the pups were going back and forth between the two dens. But now she has communicated to them to stay at the new den, and they do. I still have a few cameras back at the old den, because she didn't tell me they were all finally moving away. Which is fine, because the cameras recorded her going back to clean out the birth dens over three days. I have noticed over the years that foxes are constantly cleaning their dens. And when they leave one, they do a thorough cleaning. Here, mom fox, Sage, digs out the sand and removes prey items like the goose, muskrat, rabbit, and chicken. She decides to bring the chicken to the new den to bury it there for later, but a pup starts to eat it right away. She does not bring the muskrat, goose, and rabbit to the new den. It is time for her to go hunting for more; those are past their expiration date. The footage is from April 21st-23rd.
