Animals React to a Mirror for the First Time – Australia
All footage in this video was filmed by Epic Aussie Encounters using our own trail cameras. In this video, we document how Australian wildlife responds when encountering a reflective surface placed within their natural environment. Using remote trail cameras, a range of species including wallabies, kookaburra, possums, kangaroos, deer, and quolls were observed as they noticed and reacted to their reflections for the first time. The footage focuses on natural behavioural responses, highlighting curiosity, caution, and investigation without human presence or direct interaction. This video is part of an ongoing effort to observe and better understand wildlife behaviour through non-invasive field observation, with conservation awareness and education in mind. If you’re interested in wildlife behaviour and natural animal responses, consider subscribing for more documented encounters from the Australian bush. 0:00 Kookaburra observes reflection and feeds 0:31 Brush-tailed Rock Wallaby observes reflection 0:36 Brush-tailed Rock Wallaby passes mirror 0:41 Eastern Wallaroos (male and female) observe reflections 1:04 Brush-tailed Possum observes reflection 1:19 Brush-tailed Rock Wallaby climbs tree 1:23 Swamp Wallaby observes reflection 1:52 Spotted-tailed Quoll investigates mirror 2:06 Brush-tailed Rock Wallaby observes reflection 2:17 Brush-tailed Possum with joey observes mirror 2:23 Swamp Wallaby observes reflection 2:29 Eastern Grey Kangaroo (female) observes reflection 2:46 Possum joey climbs mirror 2:56 Red-necked Wallaby (male) observes reflection 3:16 Wallaroo observes reflection 3:22 Weather event (hailstorm) 3:33 Non-native Red Deer appears 4:00 Torresian Crow observes reflection 4:22 Spotted-tailed Quoll after rainfall 5:02 Non-native Cat appears 5:34 Brown Goshawk or Collared Sparrowhawk hunting 5:38 Swamp Wallaby observes reflection 5:55 Pacific Black Ducks observe reflection 6:25 Eastern Grey Kangaroo (male) 6:40 Spotted-tailed Quoll and Brush-tailed Possum interaction 7:20 Swamp Wallaby with joey 7:37 Echidna passes mirror 7:47 Red-necked Wallaby with joey #animals #mirrorreaction #wildlife
