Fox Pup Hunting Lessons & Mom Red Fox Catches Fresh Muskrat for Her Pups

Mom red fox catches another muskrat and brings it to her pups at their new den. Then she takes one pup out exploring to learn their territory and to learn to hunt. I notice that the fox parents do this every year with one or two pups at a time. Both mom and dad will take them, but usually it is mom. These two stop at the birth den and rest for a bit, but then continue exploring and return 2 hours later. I wonder if this is the same pup she spent time with in April when she brought one to the new den for a few days? When they return to the birth den, mom fox enters and brings out a muskrat that she caught 2 weeks earlier and begins to eat. I found it funny that she delivers fresh pike & muskrat for her pups and eats 2-week-old muskrat herself! This footage is from May 2nd to May 3rd.
