Exciting LIRR action on Memorial Day weekend, the unofficial start of summer. The weather on Friday was bleak but the railroad did their part running their fleet out to Montauk with very long trains. The Cannonball is back with 12 cars. Memorial Day was a gorgeous day and I spent the entire day getting virtually all of the east end trains at many many locations east of Babylon. It was a fun and gratifying experience and the horn blowing was just wonderful !!!
