LIRR Cannonball gorgeous evening ride Penn Station to Montauk. 6/28/24

We leave from Penn Station with roaring diesels right out of the gate. The lead unit wasn’t able to operate in electric mode. We make a nonstop run to Westhampton. And continue to the eastern hamlet of Montauk. Trip is narrated with infographics identifying all stations, interlockings, some passing trains, and all of the seemingly infinite number of railroad crossings. Although I didn’t know it at the time, we were blessed with the Sauerkraut Engineer for this run. Lots of fans were trackside to witness this popular train. We conclude video with scenes of Montauk and the pristine blue ocean on this gorgeous day with Kodachrome skies. Enjoy the ride to the scenic Montauk Branch East End!!!!
