Mom Fox Chases Off a Coyote at the Den, Catches Fish, Rabbits, Gulls & Rodents- All in One Day!

Mom red fox catches two ring-billed gulls, rabbits & rodents, brings a dead fish, chases off a coyote at the den, and catches prey right in front of my trail camera all in 24 hours. It is an adventure-packed day for mom fox and the fox pups on May 12th. Only 4 minutes after she brings the dead fish to the pups, she brings a rabbit. Can she catch a rabbit in 4 minutes? Or did she cache it somewhere and retrieve it? She also catches live prey on camera in a fallen hemlock tree that she likes to climb, so if you do not want to watch that part, skip from 2:33 to 3:14. She also successfully deters a coyote from approaching the den by screaming at it. The fox pups are at the den, and they notice and watch the coyotre approach. They even give cute little warning barks and stay close to the safety of the den entrance. They listen to mom scream at the coyote, and as it gets closer, her screams get louder. Then they finally run into the den. Thankfully, the coyote doesn't get any closer to the den. Again, it seems that foxes and coyotes can coexist when there is an abundance of prey. If food was scare, apparently the coyote could kill them all to reduce competition for food. But the coyote leaves them alone after listening to mom fox. They vultures come back when mom is gone hunting & the fox pup barks at them. But the vultures ignore the fox pups. It is amazing all the activity that can happen in one day at a fox den! 📸Trail Camera footage is from May 12th.
