The Rohingya, a Muslim minority, are suffering severe persecution in Burma. Following army massacres in 2017, 740,000 Rohingya fled en masse to neighboring Bangladesh, which welcomed them into refugee camps in Cox's Bazar. Five years later, it is the most densely populated refugee camp in the world. It is also the most dangerous, plagued by floods, fires, and gang warfare. At the end of 2020, Bangladesh decided to transfer some of these refugees to a remote island in the Bay of Bengal, which reporters Alban Alvarez and Mathilde Cusin managed to visit.
