Both teams engaged in an offensive onslaught, leaving their defenses at home for the day. In the first half, France sluggishly got into the game. England went all out on the attack and scored in the third minute with a spectacular shot from Declan Rice to make it 1-0 for the men from the island. The first 45 minutes belonged entirely to the Three Lions. Ezri Konsa and Bukayo Saka, who scored twice, increased the lead to 4-0 by halftime. France appeared completely unmotivated and put on a dismal performance. In the locker room, Didier Deschamps seemed to find the right words in his final match. The French came out and scored goal after goal. Kylian Mbappé scored twice, and Dembele and Barcola added to the tally.
