Since 2016 and the beginning of the mass migration of Venezuelans, more than 450,000 children have left the country for Colombia. It is estimated that 12,000 crossed alone, unaccompanied, this border considered one of the most dangerous in the world. Several thousand of them are forcibly recruited by paramilitary groups (FARC, ELN) and local mafias. Local authorities and NGOs are trying to act but seem powerless.
