CSX M407 heading through Rowland NC with CSX 1897(Monon) HU leading with friendly engineer on board

After waking up I saw a report on the Heritage Units app that CSX M407 was in Ashland VA at 7:41 AM and it had CSX 1897 the Monon Heritage unit leading which was one of the 11 remaining CSX Heirtage units that I have been hunting down on my quest to get all 21 units . After waiting for a while I checked for updates and found out that he was in Selma NC at 6:06 pm so I hopped into my truck and was gonna drive over to Dillon to catch him but when a railfan friend told me in FB messenger that it would be dark when M407 arrived and recommended that I drive to Rowland NC which would give me a better chance to catch it in daylight I decided to drive further north to head to Rowland to catch M407. I arrived in Rowland at 7:00 pm and pulled up to SW railroad street where I sat in my truck waiting for M407 to arrive while texting my railfan friend for updates on his location . During the wait Amtrak 89 arrived first which was extremely early as it arrived in Dillon before 8 :00 pm . After a long wait I heard the horn of CSX M407 and had to run to the spot to film since it was going track speed with my truck keys falling out of my shorts pocket but I had no time to grab it so I kept running to a grassy spot where I quickly got my phone out and started to film . As M407 approached me I waved at the engineer who was extremely friendly and gave me a great horn show and waved at me before approaching the crossing as M407 thundered past the small town of Rowland on the way to Florence . It was a great catch because I got my 11th CSX Heritage unit which puts me ten away from getting all 21 units but a friendly engineer on the Heritage unit was the cherry on top . After catching CSX M407 I was able to retrieve my truck keys thank goodness that no one was around when I filmed M407 then headed back home . Enjoy the video and subscribe
