PB15 448 - QPSR Covid Safe Picnic Train - 1/08/2020

On Saturday 1st August 2020, the Queensland Pioneer Steam Railway restarted their steam hauled Picnic Trains after a 6 month suspension due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. As part of their COVID safe plan, all trains are limited to a maximum of 80 passengers, groups of more than 8 assigned their own carriage, health questionnaires to answer and of course the use of hand sanitizer. All station staff and the onboard customer service attendants also wore face masks and would sanitize seats, handrails and all other points of contact in and around the carriages and the station to minimize exposure. The 112 year old PB15 448 has been issued with a temporary extension to its boiler ticket to enable people to experience the allure of riding behind a steam locomotive.
