NSW Railway Museum C30T 3001 on the Thirlmere-Buxton steam train journey (20 June 2026) #train

When I went to the NSW Railway Museum with my Dad, I went on a steam train from Thirlmere to Buxton. Despite the railway only being 7km long, it was still an incredibly enjoyable experience. I did hope that by the time the Sydney trip would come around, the extension from Buxton to Colo Vale would have opened by then - but construction is still ongoing (and hopefully the Buxton-Colo Vale line will open by the end of this year). Nonetheless, it was still an amazing experience! Here are some chapters (so if you want to see some parts of the video, use this as a reference): ---------------- 0:00 Intro. 0:10 Boarding the train. 1:24 Leaving Thirlmere station. 3:02 ex-Southern Aurora carriages. 3:38 Thomas the Tank Engine. 3:45 Giesl ejector (Peter Sam's funnel). 6:50 Couridjah cutting. 9:58 Couridjah station. 16:35 Arriving at Buxton. 17:06 Buxton shunting. 20:17 Leaving Buxton. 21:32 Thirlmere Workshops. 25:22 Arriving at Thirlmere. 26:06 Thirlmere Xing Gates. 28:50 Outro. ----------------
