BB18 ¼ 1037 - Hamish's 50th Birthday Charter to Clifton & Hendon - 4/7/2026

On Saturday 4th July 2026, DownsSteam Toowoomba was chartered to haul a trainload of guests from Toowoomba to Clifton & return for Hamish Withington's 50th Birthday. We film the train along its journey in glorious sunshine as it travels through the countryside. Upon arriving at Clifton, the birthday gusts disembarked to continue the celebrations at one of the local Pubs. Meanwhile, the train continued on to Hendon in order to turn the locomotive on the angle, ready for its return journey. As there was to be a long dwell at Clifton upon the train's return, I travelled to Warwick to see the Downs Explorer making its second run of the day hauling their popular "Children's Express" to Hendon with their steam locomotive, C17 971 and 5 Davidson carriages. We follow the train to Hendon and watch the locomotive turning on the angle before bidding the train farewell and returning to catch the return of the DownsSteam charter as it makes its return to Toowoomba via a stop at Cambooya for another pub visit.
