Biography on Gaston D'Orléans - The Brother Of Louis XIII: Gaston of France, Duke of Orléans was born on April 25, 1608 in the Chateau de Fontainebleau and died on February 2, 1660 in Blois Castle. He was a son of King Henry IV and Maria De Médicis, and thus a prince from the French royal house of Bourbon and the younger brother of King Louis XIII. Gaston carried the titles Duke of Anjou (1608-1640), Duke of Orléans and Chartres and Count of Blois (from 1626), Duke of Montpensier and Saint-Fargeau (from 1627), Duke of Valois (from 1630), Duke of Alençon and Baron von Amboise (from 1646).
