VW MK1 Rabbit GTI Reverse Light Switch & Gear Oil Change (020 Transmission)

In this video, I replace the reverse light switch (also known as the "back-up" light switch) since my reverse lights were flickering whenever I was backing up. I had recently replaced the bulbs, so I felt that the switch was failing. Luckily, this fixed the issue! Replacement switch was purchased from Partsplaceinc. While I was wrenching on the transmission, I figured I would change the gear oil since my shifts were starting to feel really notchy (in a bad way). There was also a slight grind when shifting into reverse, too. I think the Redline 75W-80 was a bit too thin for this 020 and changing to Royal Purple 75W-90 did the trick. No more grinds! Gear oil was purchased from my local autozone.
