Dedicate Yourself 1 Corinthians 7:10-11, 15, 12-13, 14, 16, 17-22, 24, 15-16 1 As to the matter you have written, it is good for a man not to have sexual relations with a woman. 2 To avoid sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman her own husband. 3 The husband should do his duty to his wife, and the wife likewise to her husband. 4 The wife has no authority over her own body, but the husband does; and likewise the husband has no authority over his own body, but the wife does. 5 Do not separate from one another, except by mutual consent for a time, so that you may have time to pray; then come together again, so that Satan may not tempt you because of your lack of self-control. 6 But I say this as a permission, not a command. 7 I wish that all men were like me. But each one has his own gift from God; this one is like this, and that one So is man. 8 I say to the unmarried and to the widows, that it is good for them to remain as I am. 9 If they cannot control themselves, let them marry. It is better to marry than for lust to burn like fire. 10 To those who are married I command (not I, but the Lord): a woman shall not separate from her husband, 11 (if she has separated, let her remain as she is, or let her be reconciled with her husband again), and a husband shall not forsake his wife. 12 To the rest I say (this is not a command of the Lord): if any brother has an unbelieving wife who is willing to live with him, let him not forsake her. 13 If any woman has an unbelieving husband who is willing to live with her, let him not forsake her. 14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband; otherwise your children would not be clean. But now they are holy. 15 Or an unbeliever If anyone separates, let them separate. Neither brother nor sister is bound by such things. Yet God has called you in peace. 16 How can a wife know whether she will save her husband? Or a husband know whether he will save his wife? 17 But do as the Lord has distributed to each one, and as God has called each one. I give this command in all the churches. 18 Is there anyone who was called as a circumcised person? Do not become uncircumcised. Is there anyone who was called as an uncircumcised person? Do not be circumcised. 19 Being circumcised is nothing, and being uncircumcised is nothing, but keeping the commandments of God is. 20 Let each person remain in the calling in which he was called. 21 Were you called while you were a slave? Do not worry. But if you can be set free, take advantage of it. 22 He who is called in the Lord is a free man, even though he is a slave. Likewise, he who is called while he is a free man is Christ You are slaves. 23 You were bought with a price, so do not become slaves of men. 24 Brothers, each of you remain with God in the way you were called.
