Live a life focused on the Lord 1 Corinthians 7:38, 32-34 25 I have no commandment from the Lord concerning virgins, but I, who have received His mercy and are faithful, speak my opinion: 26 For I think it is good for a person to remain as he is, because of the impending tribulation. 27 If you are bound to a wife, do not seek to be released; if you are released from a wife, do not seek a wife. 28 Yet it is not a sin for a man to marry, nor for a virgin to marry; but these will have trouble in the flesh, and I have compassion for you. 29 Brothers, I say this: Since the time is short, from now on those who have wives should be as if they have none. 30 Those who weep, do not weep. Let us be like those who do not; let us be like those who are joyful, like those who are not joyful; let us be like those who have nothing. 31 Let us all who use the things of this world be like those who do not use them, for the outward form of this world is passing away. 32 I want you to be free from anxiety. The unmarried man is concerned about the Lord’s work, wondering how he may please Him. 33 The married man is concerned about worldly things, wondering how he may please his wife. 34 His mind is divided. The unmarried woman and the virgin are concerned about the Lord’s work, seeking to keep her body and spirit holy, but the married woman is concerned about worldly things, wondering how she may please her husband. 35 I say these things for your benefit, not to set a snare for you, but to enable you to serve the Lord without distraction, in a manner befitting reason. 36 Therefore, if anyone thinks that his conduct toward his fiancée is not proper, and if she is past marriageable age and it is necessary to do so, let him do as he pleases. It is not a sin, so let them marry. 37 But he has made up his mind, and since he is not compelled and has the right to do as he pleases, he is doing well to leave his fiancée as she is. 38 Therefore, he who marries does well, but he who does not marry does even better. 39 A wife is bound to her husband as long as he lives, but when he dies she is free to marry as she pleases, but only in the Lord. 40 But in my will, it is more blessed to remain unmarried, for I also believe that I have received the Spirit of God.
