UPDATE 10 - BRIBIE ISLAND RESTORATION DRONE UPDATES | all angles - plants, birdlife, sand and bar
Hey everyone, welcome back to the channel. From here on, I’m changing the way I label these videos. The updates are no longer weekly construction reports, so instead I’ll be numbering each update. Simple, clean, and easier to follow. In these updates I’ll be documenting everything happening across the island — the plants, the birds, the animals, the sand movement, and the bar changes. If you spot anything interesting or have suggestions, drop a comment below. This week delivered something pretty wild. We had 2‑metre-plus high tides at night, and for the first time I could clearly see the original bar. The inside of that blocked bar is now almost touching the oceanside tide line. That’s how much things have shifted. Along the coastline, those powerful sets between waves are carving into the shore. You can literally watch the high tide eating the coastline and dragging sand back out to sea. So at low tide, the walk to the water is getting longer and longer — I notice it every morning when I go for a swim. The wildlife this week has been next level. The wallabies were incredible to watch. I was worried they might chew through the new vegetation, but there’s zero sign of prints or damage. Instead, they’re feeding on the fresh debris washed up by the high tide. Then there were the cormorants — huge numbers of them gathering and suddenly launching into attack mode. Even from up high with the telephoto lens, I still couldn’t see what they were chasing. And on top of that, cranes and spoonbills were working the area together. The whole place feels alive. And of course… the bar keeps shifting. This week there’s only one clear way out through the moving sand, which you’ll see in the footage as a vessel lines up with a passing ship. Thanks for watching Thanks for watching, hope you enjoy and don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe for future updates!
