July 26, 2026, Combined Worship Service at Second Baptist Church of Suffield, CT

Welcome to our Worship Service for Sunday, July 26, 2026, the nineth Sunday after Pentecost, at Second Baptist Church of Suffield. For the month July we are holding combined services with our neighbors from First Church of Christ Congregational UCC and West Suffield Congregational Church. Preaching today is the retired Pastor of Edwards Church in Northampton, Massachusetts, Rev. Dr. Peter Kakos. His sermon, “For Best Results: Follow Instructions” is based on two scripture passages: Romans 8:26-39 and Matthew 6:5-8, both from the New Testament. The music this morning is being performed by Organist/Pianist Amy Pott and Soprano Kat Guthrie from First Church. Amy's piano Prelude is “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” by Charles C. Converse. This morning's Anthem sung by Kat Guthrie, accompanied by Amy on the piano, is "There is a Balm in Gilead" a traditional spiritual, and the Postlude, which will be played on the organ, is “Dialogue” by Jean-François Dandrieu The Children's Message today will be provided by Sue Schneller, Director of Christian Education.
