cml1015 294 09 BNSF Frgt w 3 DPU's & UP switchers 4 May 24 – Darling Rendering Plant Rd.: I’m at the Darling Rendering Plant Road between the Del Rio Sub, which this train is on, and the Laredo Sub, just to my right. This BNSF w/b Freight is right at the bottom of Withers Hill. Cadet Siding and BNSF’s Cadet Yard are just past the crest of the hill, so I imagine the train is slowing to enter the siding and yard. As the BNSF train is going by, the SoSan Yard south end switchers come out on the Laredo Sub with a cut of cars they will shove back into Kelly Yard, which is between SoSan Yard and the Del Rio Sub main. Something we hardly ever see on either the UP or BNSF is three DPU’s on the rear. However, this BNSF train does have three DPUs! The middle loco in the DPU set is a rare 3-window SD60M – a nice bonus! Carl Lehman
