BNSF Southern Transcon, Chillicothe Subdivision, Monica, IL. A westbound BNSF domestic intermodal train is stopped on Main 2. A 3-Mile long, eastbound 7-Engine Union Pacific intermodal train also on Main 2 passes an eastbound BNSF intermodal waiting on Main 1, heading directly for the westbound BNSF intermodal sitting behind the crossover! It was a tense moment watching the U.P. train approach the westbound right near the 50 mph crossover speed limit! But the Union Pacific train successfully weaves between the two BNSF intermodals and continues east. Then the east and westbound BNSF trains duel it out to see which train will clear first.
