Hello, I’m Sakura 🇯🇵 I’m a woman in my 20s working in sales in Tokyo, Japan. In this video, I want to share a mix of my cozy days at home and exciting weekend trips. After a busy week, I spent some relaxing time at home making homemade ramen and shiumai (steamed pork dumplings) from scratch 🍜🥟 Cooking comforting meals is one of my favorite ways to unwind. On my days off, I treated myself to some amazing food! I finally went to get the famous, fluffy donuts at "I'm d'donut ?" and had a fun, satisfying dinner at "Yakiniku King" (all-you-can-eat Japanese BBQ) 🍩🥩 Also, on another weekend, I took a little trip away from the city and stayed at The Ritz-Carlton, Nikko. Surrounded by beautiful nature and peaceful vibes, it was the perfect luxury getaway to refresh my mind and body. I hope this video brings you a sense of relaxation and joy ✨ ────────────────── 🍜 Tonight’s menu: Homemade Ramen & Shiumai (Dumplings) [Homemade Shiumai (30 pieces)] Ingredients Ground pork: 350g 1 onion (finely chopped) Shiumai wrappers: 30 sheets [Seasonings A] Potato starch (Katakuriko): 2 tbsp Sake: 1 tbsp Oyster sauce: 1 tbsp Ginger paste: 1 tsp Sesame oil: 1 tbsp Salt: 1/2 tsp Sugar: 1/2 tsp 🍳Steps Finely chop the onion. In a bowl, combine the ground pork, chopped onion, and all seasonings [A]. Knead very well. Wrap the meat filling with the shiumai wrappers. Line a frying pan with parchment paper. Place the shiumai on top, then pour water underneath the parchment paper (just enough to cover the bottom of the pan). Cover with a lid and steam over medium heat for 10 minutes. 💡 Sakura's Tip: Using a bamboo steamer (seiro) is highly recommended for the best texture, but using a frying pan is super easy and works perfectly!
