🌉 Real Estate Coaching Process for Team Leaders | RETB Module 5 | WBNL Coaching Welcome back to Module 5 of Real Estate Team Builder: Coach, Manage & Lead Your Team. In this lesson, we’re focusing on the coaching process. Strong coaching is not random. It is not just a quick conversation in the hallway, a motivational speech during a meeting, or a reaction to whatever problem shows up that week. A strong coaching process gives you and your team members a structure for identifying goals, assessing current systems, choosing priorities, committing to action, and reviewing progress over time. In this lesson, we’ll look at how to begin with an initial business assessment. That first coaching conversation should help you understand where the agent currently stands, what systems are already working, what gaps need attention, what goals matter most, and which priorities should come first. You’ll begin thinking through: ✅ How to conduct an initial business assessment ✅ How to help agents identify their current business systems ✅ Why business planning and goals are usually the best starting point ✅ How to set expectations for the coaching relationship ✅ How to gain agreement and commitment to the coaching process ✅ Why every coaching session should end with specific action items ✅ How to handle resistance, procrastination, and excuses ✅ How to use empowering questions instead of simply giving answers ✅ How to review progress and adjust the plan over time A strong coaching process helps agents move from vague intention to clear action. Instead of saying, “I need to do better,” the agent begins identifying what needs to change, what steps need to be taken, what obstacles may get in the way, and what commitment they are willing to make. That is where coaching becomes powerful. Your role is not to solve every problem for the agent. Your role is to help them see more clearly, think more honestly, choose more intentionally, and take responsibility for their own growth. This lesson also looks at resistance. Most people are uncomfortable with change. When an agent misses action items, avoids a difficult conversation, or shows up with the same challenge repeatedly, that is information. It gives you insight into where the coaching needs to go next. The goal is not to work around resistance. The goal is to work through it. When your coaching process is clear, your team members know what to expect, what they are responsible for, and how each session connects to their larger goals.
