Research Evidence in Practice: Evidence-Based Interventions in Service Delivery

Are you looking for practical ways to improve outcomes for newcomers—without spending hours sifting through the research to find what works? When serving newcomers, practitioners often do not have the time or resources to find relevant evidence-based interventions aimed at improving client outcomes. To help bridge this gap, Switchboard offers personalized technical assistance alongside evidence summaries to support the integration of evidence-based practices (EBPs) into existing service delivery. This webinar will introduce the principles of evidence-based practice and will explore how to interpret and apply relevant research and tailor interventions to meet newcomers’ needs. Participants will learn to define evidence-based interventions, how to apply EBP through a case study and Q&A session, and design a plan to integrate EBPs into programming. By the end of this webinar, you will be able to: Describe evidence-based interventions and their relevance within service delivery for newcomers Identify appropriate evidence-based practices based on population needs, service context, and organizational capacity Develop an evidence-based service delivery plan that integrates research evidence, client characteristics and preferences, and practitioner expertise
