𝗦𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗪𝗔𝗟𝗞 𝗚𝗔𝗥𝗗𝗘𝗡: Venice Healer Daisy Plants Strawberries and Fruit Trees on Pacific Avenue

VENICE, Calif. — Monday, March 16, 2026 — Daisy, widely known in the Venice Beach community as the “Venice Healer,” was seen tending to one of her growing roadside gardens along Pacific Avenue on Monday morning, watering plants and adding new flowers and strawberries to the small plot situated on city-owned land adjacent to the sidewalk. During the encounter with Santa Monica Closeup, Daisy was carrying watering cans and working the soil around several young plants and trees she said were part of a series of gardens she has started around Venice. The garden along Pacific Avenue includes a mix of edible plants and ornamental species, including strawberries, tomatoes, squash, corn, herbs, and flowering plants. Several young fruit trees are also planted nearby, including citrus, guava, avocado, and papaya. Daisy said many of the plants and trees were donated by community members, explaining that she often encourages people to contribute to the gardens rather than spend money on traditional outings. “Instead of spending money on ourselves, let’s take care of the earth,” she said while planting strawberries near flowers and watering nearby trees. She said the Pacific Avenue site is one of four gardens she is currently maintaining around the area, adding that she regularly returns to water plants and monitor their growth. According to Daisy, she has been in contact with local agencies about the plantings and said she plans to speak with urban forestry officials regarding the use of the city-owned strip of land where the garden is located. Daisy described the gardens as a way to encourage community participation and environmental awareness, saying she hopes residents will join in planting trees, vegetables, and flowers throughout the neighborhood.
