VENICE, Calif. — Friday, March 6, 2026 — Daisy, widely known along the Venice Beach community as the “Venice Healer,” shared an update with Santa Monica Closeup this week, discussing new community gardening efforts and a recent brief return to jail tied to an earlier criminal-threats case. During the encounter, Daisy gave a tour of a small garden area she recently planted, describing it as one of several projects she hopes will support local biodiversity. She pointed out a variety of plants she said she had cultivated, including milkweed intended to support monarch butterflies, along with corn, cucumbers, herbs, fruit trees, and flowering plants. Daisy said the garden initiative reflects her ongoing focus on environmental restoration and community healing. She added that she recently planted a tangerine tree near a courthouse as part of what she described as an effort to promote urban biodiversity. During the conversation, Daisy also revealed that she had recently spent about 24 hours in custody after a bail bond company sent a bounty hunter to locate her when she failed to appear at a scheduled court date connected to a prior case involving alleged criminal threats. According to Daisy, she had originally been released on $3,000 bail following the earlier arrest. After missing the court appearance, the bail bond company located her and returned her to custody. She said friends later helped raise another $3,000 bond, allowing her to secure release roughly a day later. Daisy said the experience was difficult but reflective, describing it as an opportunity to think about trauma and the challenges faced by many individuals in the justice system. She said she spent time offering emotional support to other women who were in custody during her stay. She also spoke about personal matters involving her family, saying she is continuing to work toward rebuilding relationships with her children while participating in support programs and therapy. Daisy said she remains involved in community work and hopes to expand healing circles and parenting-support programs in the future, potentially in collaboration with social-service agencies.
