Polisi Ungkap Dugaan Tindak Pidana Pencucian Uang di Kasus Hanania Travel

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – The Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya) continues its investigation into the alleged fraud and embezzlement case perpetrated by the Hanania Group. In addition to charging the suspect with alleged fraud and embezzlement, investigators are also investigating the possibility of money laundering (TPPU) in this case, which has caused losses to thousands of prospective Umrah pilgrims. This was conveyed by the Director of General Criminal Investigation of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Senior Commissioner Iman Imanuddin, during a public hearing (RDPU) with Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) regarding the handling of the Hanania Travel case on Thursday (June 18, 2026). "We are developing the case into money laundering. We are currently coordinating with the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) to trace the distribution of funds handled by the suspect," said Iman. According to him, tracing assets and the flow of funds is a crucial step in determining where the pilgrims' funds were used and opening up opportunities for victims' recovery. Based on investigators' initial calculations, the total estimated losses in this case are approximately IDR 95.22 billion. The identified losses for pilgrims who have not yet received refunds reach IDR 27.52 billion.
