BB18 ¼ 1079 and AC16 221A - "Edser's Express" 1000th ARHS Tour - 6/12/2014

On Saturday 6th December 2014, the Australian Railway Historical Society celebrated a significant milestone event, in 57 years of running tours the society had reached tour number 1000 ! To celebrate this a special double header steam train was chartered to travel from Roma Street station to Fisherman Islands and then traveled westwards to Box Flat, home of the Queensland Pioneer Steam Railway and back to the City. Named "Edser's Express", this train ran as a tribute to the late Tour Organizer and Train Manager, Ray Edser, who was instrumental in continuing to preserve Queensland's Railway Heritage for everyone to enjoy. The overcast conditions on the day also added to the somber mood.
