AC16 221A - "Last Steam Train to Ferny Grove" - 12.12.2010

On Sunday, 12th December 2010 a special series of steam train trips was run to hereld the "Last ever Steam Train to Ferny Grove" hauled by the 1943 Baldwin built AC16 221A. Situated on Brisbane's Northside, the Ferny Grove line has a length of approxamatley 13.5 km. As part of the Queensland Government's South East Queensland Infrastructure Plan, the section of line between Keperra and Ferny Grove which is currently single line running will be upgraded to double track. Ferny Grove station will also undergo a transformation into a 3 platform dead end station and the locomotive run around loop will be removed. The works are scheduled for completion in 2012.
